Fibre specialist BYR International has developed and patented a solution for processing staple fibres in fine counts in warp knitting. Its Solucell WarpKnit technology combines a filament component with a staple fibre component to create a yarn that can be processed on high-performance warp knitting machines with good productivity. The result is fabrics with look and feel of cotton rich products and the typical performance of warp knitted articles. Garments made of this material follow every movement, do not crease and can even be washed in the washing machine. The high content of natural fibres also reduces the need for crude oil.
At PERFORMANCE DAYS Lorenzo Rescali was wearin a jacket that is similar in look and design to its conventional woven counterparts, but significantly more comfortable to wear.
Solucell WarpKnit was developed in cooperation with the industry leader KARL MAYER. The textile technology support for the development came from the headquarters in Obertshausen, and BYR International worked together with KARL MAYER (CHINA) to process the yarns on knitting machines.
